YEA YEA YEA…… I know its been a while. Things are a little crazy. I mean that with EXTREME excitement in my sleepy voice. The gym is lookin better every day, and I couldn’t be happier with the progress of EVERYONE at CFP! My Onota lake buds are OLD PROS now……and my nights are full of NEWBIES! Air Squats all night, every night. You would think its no big deal. YOUR (I’m) WRONG. The damn air squats are kicking my butt. The NEWBIES put me to shame. From the beginning…. we ALL thought they were playing a trick on us up here. They ALL seem to be SUPER SQUATTERS. Its great. Well unless your Jamie, and you are 100% jealous!! HA HA. These guys are great. Fun to teach.

We are having our first CFP CFT (CrossFit Total) Friday night. That will be SOOOOOO FUN! These guys are ITCHING to see how strong they are. I cant wait. And… Im SURE the costumes will help. 

The Red Sox are on….. Jamie is “watching” (through his eyelids) the game while I answer a zillion e mails. But I’m glad to have him HOME! Its been a long haul with him working in NYC…..seems like the end is in sight. THANK GOODNESS. 120 miles a day, LOTS of diner food and Lara bars. 3 hours of sleep and 10pm dinner…..I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER! Starting to feel real-ish?!!?!?

Well, time to squat clean Jamie off the couch, and granny toss him into bed.

Boy Wonder

Its almost 11…. Im tired. BUT…. with all the last little bit of uumph left in me… I NEED to say a quick something.

Most of you know Nick as “boy wonder”. An absolutely amazing athlete. Always pushing himself to the limit. Most of the time I walk into the gym, and he is doing something that I’ve never seen before!! He knows that hard work will get him far, and is not afraid to put in the time to make GREAT things happen. I know that Nick too. BUT….Im starting to know a new Nick.

Coach Nick. Researching movements in a WOD….. so that he doesn’t miss a fault, and so that he can correct one without hesitation. Keeping workouts FUN, at the same time being “tough enough.” Handling 20 plus people of ALL abilities, and NOT making ANY of them feel more or less important than another. It’s pretty FREAKIN cool to watch. I am grateful to have ya around. Well…….. except for those thrusters!!!

There are so many great things that have been happening each day at the gym. PR’s…… Firsts…..Nick inventing new moves… wods……heavy wods…..NEWBIES….. Oldies! But…. My most FAVORITE part of each day are the friendships that are forming! New friends….old friends… It’s sooooooo cool to see! People that were strangers a week ago…. Are cheering and helping one another through their workout. “Older” friends are coaching new friends….. Giving tips and telling their own stories. We all know that for an hour a day we all can forget about work or whatever we do,and just have WOD time! It’s true……. Those who WOD together, stay together! It doesn’t matter how much you deadlift or if you can do those damn double unders, everyone still cheers you on. I hope that I never forget how cool that’s is.

Keep up the hard work.You are all amazing. I couldn’t be happier to share this important time with such great people. And……. Thanks for the snacks. You know how much I love to cook.

bad CrossFit bad….?

“I just saw this show…..Are people REALY dying from CrossFit? OMG….. am I going to get that RABDOODLE-MALOSIS?” I have had this conversation with SOOOOO many people lately.

After that thing was on MSNBC? Or something like that…. about rhabdo an CrossFit killing people, I must have had 10 people ask me if that is true. At first I get super defensive and angry….. OFF COURSE NOT! They are SO DUMB. WHY are you even watching that crap??? BREATHE…….. then when I calm down, I realize that Im making CrossFit look and sound crazier, by BEING CRAZY!!!  I GET IT……. there are TONS loons out there that do insane WODS and send videos in or post on FB. People getting hurt because they don’t know when to STOP! Next thing you know THAT IS WHAT ALL CROSSFIT GYMS ARE DOING!!! Well, ITS NOT.

I can only speak from my own experience. Most of the people (95%) that come into our gym, are coming to have 1 hour to themselves. A time to forget about stupid work, dinner, paper work, e mails, meetings, KIDS…WHATEVER! They aren’t there to become Rich Fronings next competitor or to deadlift 500 lbs. Sure they want to get stronger and faster, who doesn’t? But the majority of US are just looking for a fun place to get strong and hang out with cool people. People are getting hurt playing football…EVERY day. Are we going to STOP playing football? I don’t think so! SO…. WOD on my friends. HATERS will HATE. We know the friendships and triumphs that we have made because of this DANGEROUS sport we play. Continue reading


Its 8 am thursday morning Im sitting at MY DESK (well, it’s my moms), Def Leopard is “pouring some sugar on me” and all I can smell is sweaty 6am left-overs and rubber. AHHHHHHHHHHH. Ive been waiting for this moment. I’ve discovered that the diner upstairs has amazing sausage AND… I have convinced them to have fresh avocado! Still working on the SMOKERS that loom next to Hoshi (my car) in the parking lot… BUT, other than that today is off to a great start! 

I’m starting to get a “some-what” WO schedule back. 7am….then some HORRIFIC 4 pm with Nick an Co. My body feels like I’ve been hit by a truck, But I LOVE it. Nick writes inspirational quotes on the white board each day… I’m so old that I don’t even know who said them, or what they mean!! I feel like a granny every morning when he reminds me that the song I LOVE was cool…….. before he was BORN!! Good thing he’s my bud! 

SO, those are my SERIOUSLY random thought this morning! 

Oh, besides this… has anyone noticed the HUGE amount of road kill? Im not sure if its because I drive SO far So much…Or if these critters need some CCF (critter crossfit) I mean they gotta get across that road faster! Maybe they are eating so many yummy crock pot suppers, that their bellies are too fat? Im not sure. RUN little bunnies, skunks, squirrels and coonies RUN!!!!
